fabric wrappings

Just a quick post today as I try to finish getting ready for Christmas

When I was growing up the gifts from Santa were always wrapped differently from the rest of the presents. Usually in red and green tissue paper, although I do remember one or two years when they were wrapped in white tissue paper with sparkles all over it, awesome. The point is, they always seemed extra special and of course they came from Santa because mom and dad didn’t wrap our family presents the same way. So, although my little dove is still too young to care about which presents are wrapped which way or even know who Santa is, I figured now’s the time to start such traditions. Even though I do plan to go more of the “Yes, Virginia, there is” route when my children do start asking about Santa, I also don’t think it’s a bad thing to encourage child-like fantasy. I opted for fabric for my special wrapping of choice and I love how it turned out. I picked up this tan snowflake fabric from Joann’s at 50% off and some red grosgrain ribbon. I love the way that the Santa presents and stocking stuffers look. No sewing required, just cut with pinking shears, and you have a unique way of wrapping presents!
