I hope you all had a fantastic Valentine’s Day yesterday! Please excuse me for taking a break from my month of yummy goodies–haven’t they been so good?? However, today I want to share some very exciting news with my awesome readers. It looks like we have a new place to call our home sweet home.

Our very first home sweet home.

We closed on our first home this week! Although it’s nearly as old as I am it’s got good bones. It definitely needs a lot of cosmetic updates (and maybe a few that are slightly more than cosmetic). I’ve already started painting the interior prior to moving all of our earthly belongings in. It’s meant a lot of late nights in a very cold house. However, it’s also been very satisfying seeing what a difference even the little bit of work I’ve done so far has made!

I am so excited in the coming months (and years) to share the prettifying of all 1,690 square feet inside. It sits on a third of an acre and like the inside, the outside also needs some TLC to recognize its full potential.

Home Sweet Home

‘Mid pleasures and palaces, though we may roam,
Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home.
A charm from the sky seems to hallow us there,
Which, seek through the world, is ne’er met with elsewhere.
Home! sweet home!
There’s no place like home!
An exile from home, splendour dazzles in vain!
Oh! give me my lovely thatch’d cottage again!
The birds singing gaily that came at my call,
Give me them, with the peace of mind dearer than all!
Home! sweet home!
There’s no place like home!
