I have been really busy rushing around like a crazy person trying to get last minute things ready for Trek.
I see some of you nodding your heads in understanding, while some of you think I’m talking about Star Trek. I’ll go into what Trek is in a minute, but maybe you can figure it out with these Pioneer Trek journals I’m sharing today.

Let me star by saying that I can’t take credit for these Pioneer Trek journals. Someone designed these and then they were ordered for everyone that is going on Trek this week. Isn’t that great? I love some of the thoughtful things that were included in these booklets.

First of all, there’s a brief background about the history of the handcart trek included in the front. There are also several song lyrics so we can sing while we’re on Trek. In addition to blank pages for writing on, they also made sure to include space for the history on the person we’re portraying, since everyone is taking on an actual person from history.

what is Pioneer Trek?

The hubby and I were asked at the beginning of this year to be a Ma and Pa couple for a pioneer handcart trek. We’re leaving before sunrise this Thursday and we’ll be hiking a total of 17 miles over 3 days with a handcart full of all our stuff. While we’re there we’ll be the “parents” of a “family” of about 10 teenagers (ages 14-18). Below you’ll find more links for helpful tips if you’re going on Trek!
