Maybe you’re like me and you have an idea for something cute. Something a little unique, or personalized. However, you feel stuck because you don’t have a die cut machine. Well, you’re in luck! I recently made my son (and his cousins) a unique missionary onesie, and I found a product that I think you’ll love! As long as you have an inkjet printer, you’ll be able to make your own custom apparel without using heat transfer! Some links contain affiliates, all opinions are my own.

I found this Sew-in Colorfast material that’s perfect for making custom additions to your sewing projects! You run it through your inkjet printer and then you can just sew it on normally. I think it’s a great option if you don’t own a die cut machine, or if you have more detailed work you want to do. After all, weeding all these letters out with heat transfer material would take a long time!

I love dressing my little man in his custom missionary onesie, it’s the perfect Sunday outfit, along with his adorable leg warmers. Since he’s such a little mover, I made sure to triple sew it onto the onesie for durability. I did a Colorfast treatment that the directions recommend on the missionary tag. However, even with that extra step, it is recommended that you hand wash or machine wash using the gentle cycle with cold water to keep it looking good as new. I’ll report back on how it holds up!

Edited (4/6/2016): This onesie is still going strong all these years (and kids) later! So those of you that don’t have a die-cut machine, the Sew-In Colorfast material is a great option!
