DIY “baby’s first Christmas” ornament

Table of Contents

Two years ago I was searching for a “Baby’s First Christmas” ornament for my little dove. Unfortunately, I was having a hard time finding something that I liked. My criteria seemed simple to me. I didn’t want anything too “cutesy” so it would go wiht the rest of my tree. I also wanted something that could be personalized with my baby’s name or picture. Lastly, I needed to make sure this was an ornament I could find in years to come for other kiddos too. Finally I decided to DIY instead of buy so here is how I made a baby’s first Christmas ornament! Let me know in the comments what you think!

DIY baby’s first Christmas ornament

The great news about this baby’s first Christmas ornament is how easy it is to make! This is simple and quick 5 minute craft. So even if you have a lot of kids you can make one for each of them in no time. It also has a classic look and will blend into any Christmas tree décor you have.

materials needed:
  • Transparency paper for the type of printer you have. (You could also use vellum, it will just be a different look.)
  • Beads or other small filler
  • Clear glass ornaments

The first thing you need to do is print up what you want on the transparency paper. I decided to type “—‘s First Christmas”. I also wanted to have a newborn picture, with the year under that. Then you cut the transparency to the size and shape you need for your glass ornament. All that’s left is to insert the paper in your ornament and then add some filler!
