I was looking through all the cake batter french toast recipes on Pinterest and couldn’t find any that used chocolate cake batter, and I was like, “Hmm, is there a reason for this? Does it taste gross? Who doesn’t like chocolate?” So I decided to give it a whirl and I am so glad because this chocolate cake batter french toast was quite tasty, if I do say so myself. This recipe is enough for a big crowd (if you’ve got a house full of little Valentines, like I do), but can easily be split in half if you’re just making it for yourself and your main squeeze. 🙂
You can use any kind of bread you have on hand, or go out and buy something special for the occasion, remember that a denser bread will help keep the middle from getting soggy. You can serve with syrup, powdered sugar, or make a simple glaze like I did (powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract was a decadent addition to these). Click {here} for the recipe.
