This past weekend my little sister got sealed in the Los Angeles Temple.
I can’t believe she’s married…

Also, I feel really old. 🙁
A few months ago when she was in the midst of planning everything, I knew that she was having a hard time finding wedding announcements that they liked and were in their budget. So I studied her Pinterest board a little bit and then designed a few mock ups with Photoshop Elements.
She and her (then) fiance both liked the one I designed that was inspired by all the infographics that are so popular right now. It was my favorite one too, totally wish that Pinterest had been around when I got married…
Obviously it’s not a true infographic, just inspired by them with the simple text, box layout, and silhouette images.
I used //this// website to make sure I was getting the colors I wanted (since sometimes there can be discrepancy between reality and the screen), and also printed one up at the Target photo center before we placed the official order with Costco using their create-your-own Greetings by Costco feature.
I am really pleased with the way they turned out and the quality is great of course, Costco always does a good job. 🙂
I’m also excited for Michaela and Wesley as they start their lives together!

Aww, thanks Candace, so sweet of you. I got sealed in the Newport Beach Temple myself, but the I think she really enjoyed going through LA, even though the drive is blah. 🙂
Those are great announcements! I will for sure be passing on this info for those I know will need it! Thanks for sharing!!
These are so cute and would also make a good birth announcement (hint, hint). I wish pinterest was alive when I was planning my wedding…it would have made things a whole lot easier.

these looks really great! I'm making my invites too. such a great way to cut back on costs. who knew invites and announcements could cost so much from a designer/printer!

Thanks so much Jennifer! I do too, but I was actually just thinking the other day that I'm going to have to switch it up once the new baby gets here. 🙁
Thanks so much Jacynta! Yes, they can be so expensive! I mean, I know that designers are talented and work hard, but holy cow!

[…] Well, if we were in third grade and on the playground together I would respond by sticking out my tongue. However, we’re full-grown adults so I’ll just say that this is all thanks to the lovely and talented Rebecca Barney with Barney Design. I’ll be gushing about this new site and her work later in the week, because today I’m linking up with Shoes to Shiraz for Deena’s “numbers link-up” post, a monthly link-up where you can review the previous month. I first discovered this last month and thought it was a fun concept. Plus, I saw this as the perfect opportunity to make an infographic. Y’all know how much I love infographics. […]
