A couple weeks ago I shared the newest love in my life… my Timi and Leslie Madison diaper bag.
Today I wanted to share what’s inside, because it can be a little overwhelming trying to figure out what you might possibly need for not only yourself, but a newborn and three toddlers! And keep reading to the end of the post for a discount code for your very own Timi & Leslie diaper bag!
Some of the essentials that I need with me at all times for my tiniest babes are:
- Aden and Anais muslin swaddle blanket. Sometimes I just keep one of these with the car seat so I don’t have to keep one in the diaper bag, just kind of depends on my mood or what time of year it is.
- Huggies diapers and wipes. I keep two in my diaper bag at all times in whatever sizes I currently need, then I keep extra in the car all the time so I don’t have to carry around 10 diapers with me “just in case”, but I never run out!
- Clean onesie in a Ziploc bag in case of emergencies
- Nursing cover
- Sometimes a bottle (not pictured). The great thing about the Timi & Leslie bags is that they come with the insulated bottle holder, so if you have a bottle brand that fits in it then you can just clip it to the outside and it doesn’t have to take up valuable space inside!
The things I need with me to stay sane with my older kids:
- Snacks (I know this looks like a lot, but keep in mind I need to have emergency snacks on hand for three little moochers!)
- “Busy bag” with items like small coloring books (from Target Dollar Spot) and a couple crayons, a couple lace-and-trace cards, and a small board book.
- Water bottle (not pictured). I pretty much always have at least one kid water bottle in my diaper bag at all times. I try to make my two older kids in charge of their own, but I still schlep around the water for my 18 month old.
Believe it or not, there’s still room for the things that I need for myself:
- Planner. My planner is also my wallet… and sometimes an impromptu coloring pad for the kids.
- Cell phone
- Cosmetic bag. This tiny bag holds things like a travel size sunscreen, tinted lip moisturizer, gum, eye drops, and my inhaler.
- Water bottle (not pictured). Most of the time I have a water bottle for myself, especially when I’m pregnant.
- Hand sanitizer (not pictured, clipped onto the side)

This totally reminded me that I need to put another pack of wipes in my bag!! My daughter also uses my planner as a coloring book some days 🙂
Smart momma using ziplocks! Is it weird that I miss carrying a diaper bag – I loved them! 🙂
LOL, yes, you definitely don't want to run out of wipes!!
What's not to love? So many handy compartments and easy to keep clean. 🙂
Una borsa con tanti scomparti è geniale anche per le zie
That bag is great!
oh you are so organized. I like your idea of having a onesie in a plastic bag, i never thought of where you put the one that had the accident. Smart, smart!
You're diaper bag contents are pretty much the same exact as mine I find it easier to keep it stocked and ready to go so that it's one less thing to do before I head out.
The muslin blankets are my favorite. I love that they store in little space and can be used for a light cover for shade, nursing cover or to lay on grass.
Your bag is super cute. It reminds me a lot of my Sarah Wells breast pump bag.
That bag is fantastic! I don't need to carry around diapers for kids anymore, but I feel like I still need a large enough bag for kid cr*p 🙂 This one is much more stylish than anything I've ever carried. Love it!
I love that bag, may have to get it, even if I don't have a baby!!!
That's such a cute bag! I carry around a ton of snacks, too. Haha!
I love that diaper bag. I really need to get a new one. And seriously love the idea of having a spare onesie in a plastic bag.
I love this diaper bag!!!

Love this! That's such a cute bag! I'm finally getting to a point where I may not need to carry a diaper bag much longer and I'm rejoicing! Although that one is really cute!
You carry light! I always had junk in my bag when my kids were younger. I do have two toddlers…they pack their own bag. Haha. I think the only thing I carry on me that is not mine is my son's epi-pen. btw…I LOVE that bag, I would totally recycle it and use it as a camera bag. Love love LOVE it!
Thanks Alyssa! The Timi & Leslie bags come with a "wet sack", but newborn clothes are so teeny tiny I think a Ziploc bag works better. 🙂
Thanks Amber! Yes,we have had a few diaper and snack emergencies that have really pushed me to make sure it's always ready to go. 🙂 And the muslin blankets are definitely the best, so versatile!
LOL, yep, even once diapers are done with you still have tons of kid stuff to carry around, for sure!
Hey, it doesn't even look like a diaper bag, sot hat's okay! 😉
You definitely don't want to ever run out of snacks! Nothing like lots of hangry toddlers to deal with while trying to run errands! 😀
Thanks Alicia! I really love it, it's like, my one nice fancy baby item, lol. 🙂
Sometimes it seems like I'll never get there… but I know it's really only a matter of time and that day will be here before I know it. 🙂
I know Jess, I feel like it's a lot, but then I look at what some other people have and I'm like, okay, maybe I'm not that bad. 😉 And great idea, it would make a great camera bag, all those compartments for storing things!
Oh my goodness, you have the cutest diaper bag!!! <3
These are great tips!! I don't have a diaper bag yet, but someday I will and I am going to be completely clueless as to what to put in it!
You will figure out what works for you, trust me! 🙂 Thanks for your kind comment Autumn!
This is the cutest diaper bag ever! Wonderful tips for what to carry for new baby.
Thank you so much!
I love that bag so much, it's so stylish!
I need that many snacks for my one baby, he's such a monster eater I can't imagine if I have more like him – the grocery bills!! ://///
You reminded me I NEED to put an extra stash of things in the car, brilliant! I've been meaning to but keep forgetting and things have almost gotten very ugly and messy heheh
Haha, yes, my kids are starting to eat us out of house and home! 🙂
