I am so excited because today I’ve got two ideas for a DIY baby’s first Christmas ornament for you! Ornaments are such a fun thing to make at this time of year and you don’t need fancy crafting tools to make it happen. One of these ornaments requires no special tools. The other one does require a vinyl cutting machine but if you don’t have one maybe you could ask a friend to do you a favor. After all, it is the season of giving!

baby announcement ornament
This first ornament is one that anyone can do because it doesn’t take any special equipment or skills. All you need is a clear glass ornament and your child’s birth announcement. Ideally you would also have a paper trimmer. However, if you don’t have one you could use scissors. Just cut the birth announcement into strips and wrap each strip tightly around a pencil. Then stuff each curled paper through the opening of the ornament. Super simple, but a sweet, sentimental ornament and a conversation piece! This is also a great gift you can give to a friend who has a new bundle of joy once they send the announcements out!

birth stats ornament
This next ornament highlights your baby’s birth stats and requires access to a vinyl cutting machine. If you don’t have one yet and can work it into the budget I highly recommend one! Just cut out your baby’s birth stats and adhere to the front of a clear glass ornament suing transfer paper tape. I prefer the flattened disc glass ornaments for this particular ornament. You could finish it off with a baby picture inside of the ornament or leave as is.

These ornaments are adorable! A forever keepsake!
So fun!! My little one was only a few weeks old last Christmas so the cute "baby's first Christmas" gifts and traditions were seriously lacking.
Awesome idea!! I love making my own Christmas ornaments
Thank you so much!
I know, so fun and special too! 🙂
Ah, Clara doesn't care. 🙂 But you could still make her one this year! 😉
