If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I recently went on a short trip with my hubby. This was a belated 30th birthday trip, since I was totally pregnant for my 30th birthday last August. In fact, I ended up having baby #4 just three days afterwards! Mike took it upon himself to plan a surprise trip for just the two of us. This was the first time we’d been away together since the summer of 2014. He told me he had something planned about a month beforehand so that I could prepare to leave the baby with grandparents. However, he didn’t tell me where we were going or what we were doing until the day of! I loved where we stayed so I wanted to share this 3 Peaks Resort & Beach Club review with you!
3 Peaks Resort & Beach Club review
We pulled up to 3 Peaks Resort & Beach Club around 6:30 on a Sunday evening. Check in was a relatively quick and simple process and we found the front desk staff member to be helpful enough, even offering us pool towels then when we asked about the pool so we wouldn’t have to get them letter. The front desk area is simple and cute, with a television, fireplace, and pool table; although, the pool table costs money to play. In the winter you can also purchase bundles of firewood (if you reserve a room with a fireplace), but the bundles are $10 for a relatively small amount of wood so luckily you can bring your own. Upon check in we found out that they would be putting a $100 hold on our credit card that is still pending on our account over a week later.

a variety of rooms and suites to choose from
We followed the resort map provided to our studio suite that had a king bed, full kitchen, and a fireplace. I was so pleased when I saw the room! The décor is just my style, the perfect blend of modern and rustic touches. The kitchen in our room was great too. We had a small range, sink, refrigerator, and basic small appliances.
amenities of 3 Peaks Resort
3 Peaks Resort & Beach Club offers free Wi-Fi, as well as free parking. Since this was winter the pool was closed. However, the two level hot tub was open! It was the perfect place to relax after our full day of chilly sight-seeing.

My husband had been concerned since it’s a pet-friendly resort that there would be some problems. However, while we saw a few dogs staying there (with their owners, of course) we never heard any. We also both feel like the room was one of the cleanest we’ve stayed in. The only issue we really had was with our fireplace. Before we settled in for the first night we tried to light a fire but were having some issues with smoke. We inquired at the front desk the next morning and by the time we got back at the end of the day they must have done something, because things went much better with the fireplace the second night.
an ideal location in South Lake Tahoe
The location of 3 Peaks Resort & Beach Club is perfect. It is located just a block from Heavenly Village and the Heavenly Gondola in South Lake Tahoe. It’s also easy walking distance to the state line, grocery stores, and many restaurants. We were able to walk to a grocery store to purchase a couple things to take advantage of the kitchen in our room. While you’re staying at 3 Peaks Resort you also have access to Lakeside Beach and Marina. According to Yelp it’s one of the top 10 beaches in South Lake Tahoe! Keep in mind, the hotel is not located on the beach itself.

I love Tahoe! It's been years since I've been there, but it's one of the prettiest places I've been!
Sounds like a lovely weekend! I'd love to visit Tahoe some day. We left our daughter for the first time overnight at about 10 months. It was harder for me than her 🙂 plus, pumping sucks!
What a fun trip! And how lucky you are to have a husband who will make travel plans for you…that's the dream!
This looks so nice! I LOVE that fireplace!!!
I've already looked and they have rooms available!! We'll probably be booking tonight!! EEEk!!
It was SO gorgeous! I couldn't believe it! I grew up in southern California and the difference between Tahoe snow and Big Bear snow… there is no comparison. 🙂
I know, right? 95% of the time I'm the one making all of our plans for trips so this was such a nice treat! he did a great job. 🙂
Yay! I hope you have a great experience!
The fireplace was so nice! My favorite part of the room for sure.
I know, having to plan everything around a pumping schedule can be a bit cumbersome, lol.
It was so much fun and I can't wait to go back!
