how to make custom Father’s Day coloring pages
I used Photoshop Elements for this tutorial. However, I’m sure you could do something similar in PicMonkey or Canva if you don’t have access to Photoshop. You might even be able to these results on the photo app on your cell phone!
simple Photoshop tutorial
Start by opening your JPEG in Photoshop (I’m using Elements 7.0 here).
I then went to my adjustment layers. In there I turned the saturation down all the way and the contrast up all the way.
The last step is choosing the colored pencil artistic effect. Then you adjust the paper brightness, stroke pressure, and pencil width until you have the results you want.
Then all that’s left is to print it up! How cute would it be to print up a coloring page for every year of your children and their father together? This is a sweet and simple memento to give your husband for Father’s Day, or even to print up pictures for any occasion!

This is such a beautiful idea! I actually don’t have any experience using a photo-editing software…ugh, lame, I know. In the future, would you suggest photoshop or something simpler for me to start with?
Hey Caity! I have Photoshop Elements, which is like a watered down and slightly simplified version of Photoshop. I think it’s great but I know it’s not for everyone. I would probably get some opinions from people that have different programs. 🙂
How cool is this!! Such a creative idea!
I debated getting Photoshop Elements the last time I saw it at Costco and didn’t, but I’m regretting it! I’ll have to grab it next time. This is such a cute idea and I’m sure my kids would love this.
