You might be well aware that this coming weekend is Harry Potter’s birthday. To celebrate The Boy Who Lived I really wanted to share a yummy recipe, but I have yet to find a Butterbeer recipe that passes the test (does anyone have a favorite??) so instead I have some printables for you!
One of the reasons I love the Harry Potter series is that I feel like it has some great life lessons that can be valuable to all of us. There are so many different things that I could talk about, but today I want to focus on the importance of the choices we make.
Harry might have had to deal with some choices that we never have to think about (he is, after all, a fictional character) but if you really think about it you might be surprised how much relevance his life has to your own.
Everyday we’re faced with choices. Choices between right and wrong. Between darkness and light. Between the harder path and the easier one. There are those that will try and say there is no right and wrong, that there is only what is right for you. This is simply not true. Although not everything in life is black and white, many things are, whether you like it or not.
It is up to each of us to decide what path we want to choose, what type of example we want to be. Are we taking responsibility for our own choices? What are those choices saying about us? What are we choosing to show to the world is the most important to us?
Do you have a favorite Harry Potter quote? Will you be celebrating his birthday on July 31? ๐
