It’s early October, which means it’s pumpkin and apple season! The kiddos and I took a field trip this past week to a place called Apple Hill, which is basically an entire nation of apple orchards and farms. It is a really neat place to go and the kids always have a great time. Links contain affiliates, all opinions are my own.
If you haven’t been to an apple orchard yet this season, here are some helpful tips to make your visit even more enjoyable.
- Be sure to take your kids. As many as possible. Maybe borrow some neighborhood children or cousins.
- Plan the trip at the right time. Preferably nap time when everyone is tired.
- Dress in layers because trying to chase your children through the rows and keeping them out of the goat pen makes you a bit toasty.
- Speaking of clothing, dress in dark colors. All the dust really creates a charming contrast.
- Stop and get yourself a Diet Coke on the way home, you deserve it.
In all seriousness though, as much work as it is to take the littles to places like this, it usually ends up being a memorable experience.
In a good way.
Usually.
Hey, I’m just keeping it real folks.
By the way, the apple orchard did make for the perfect backdrop for this month’s installment of How We Wore It. This month’s inspiration came from Diary of a Debutante and for some effortless-looking Fall fashion, you’ll definitely want to check it out! How do you think my look compares?

What a fun time! We have ZERO apple orchards around us and I am bummed!
That is a bummer! When we lived in Lubbock there was one that we liked a lot, I think it was called Hi-Plains Orchard, or something like that.
This looks so fun! I don’t have an apple orchard near me, which makes me so sad. But I’m excited to go pumpkin picking soon!
Bummer! But yes, pumpkin patches are also lots of fun!
I literally laughed out loud while reading this! I had Julia in such a cute outfit, but totally forgot how dusty and dirty apple orchards actually are!
Thanks so much Desiree. I know, sometimes our desire for cute outfits makes us forget what a mess can be made. 🙂
That looks like so much fun! And I love the outfit!
Aww, thanks so much for your sweet comment!
