We love hot chocolate in our house and with six people we seem to go through it like water in the colder months. Several years ago I tried white hot chocolate and I fell in love, it was just so creamy and delicious! I somehow got this idea for white hot chocolate dips and couldn’t get it out of my head. This turned out to be really simple–so simple I’m not even sure if I can call it a recipe. It might be more of a DIY project. A super simple one. A super fast one. One that you can easily do during naptime and still have time to get the laundry folded, huzzah! Some links contain affiliates, all opinions are my own!
how to make white hot chocolate dips
ingredients & supplies needed:
- good quality white chocolate chips (I love the good quality chips from Ghirardelli or Guittard)
- ice cube trays
- wooden spoons or popsicle sticks

Pour your melted chocolate into your ice cube trays, stick a wooden spoon or stick in, and allow to harden overnight. Once they’re completely hard you can pop them out and store until you’re ready to use them. To enjoy your hot chocolate dips just fill a mug with 8 ounces of hot milk and stir with your hot chocolate dip! I added two milk chocolate chips to each cube and it adds the perfect flavor to the hot chocolate.
Tip: The trick to melting chocolate is slowly over low heat so you don’t burn it, so if you’re using the microwave go for 50% or 60% power at short intervals and stir thoroughly between. I almost always use the microwave because it’s easier and my busy #momlife needs as much easy as I can get!

Other fun add-ins would be:
- mini marshamallows
- peanut butter chips
- crushed candy canes
- colored chocolate melts
The result is a creamy (I mean, you’re basically drinking melted chocolate–all of my Willy Wonka dreams have come true) hot chocolate that would make adorable gifts for friends and family!
