planning the perfect pink tea party

Happy Friday friends! I was recently inspired by some of my friends who are rocking the fun mom thing. So I decided to throw a super simple tea party for my two older girls while big brother was at school and baby sister took a nap. We had our little tea party on Valentine’s Day, but any day is a good day for a perfect pink tea party! The best thing about this toddler tea party? It only took 15 minutes to set up!

tips to plan a pink tea party your kids will love

minutes 1-5: gather pink tea party items

Set a timer or keep your eyes on a clock and gather décor and items that you need for five minutes. I picked a pink color scheme but obviously you can pick any color you want. During your prep time you also tell your little one(s) to go get dressed up. This also helps keep them busy while you’re setting up, #momwin.

minutes 6-10: prepare the tasty treats and drinks

You only have five minutes so keep in mind that this is not supposed to be super fancy. Just gather small finger foods that are ready to go. Since it was Valentine’s Day we had lots of little goodies laying around. We had just had lunch so I didn’t worry about serving an actual meal. However, you could easily make some peanut butter sandwiches if you need to be serving food of substance. Some other simple ideas include: apple slices, orange wedges, crackers, and cheese cubes. For our beverage for our “tea party” I just used flavored water. Juice, lemonade, herbal tea, or hot chocolate are other great options!

minutes 11-15: set up your pink tea party!

Gather all your items together and set up your table. Easy peasy. My girls were so excited! It was so sweet to see their joy about everything–from dressing up to getting to use the fancy pink “big girl” plates and glasses. And of course, all the delicious treats! Another reason why it was nice to spend so little time setting up? They were probably done in about another 15 minutes. It made me really glad I didn’t stress about setting up a tea party for them for hours.

it’s about quality, not quantity!

I hope it doesn’t sound like I’m trying to advocate squeezing in time with your kids. After all, I firmly believe that your family is the most important thing. However, we all have lots of demands on our time. Sometimes I forget that my kiddos don’t need complicated activities, they just want to spend time with me!

Have you ever planned a tea party for your kids? I’m a little embarrassed to say that I’ve been a girl mom for more than four years now and this is my first one. I don’t even know how that’s possible. Keeping my fingers crossed that they don’t kick me out of the Girl Mom Club. BY the way, for anyone interested we meet on Wednesday afternoons, wink wink.

Have you ever planned a spontaneous party for your kids?

Tea parties are just the sweetest! And it didnt come across as “squeezing in” time at all; more like an easy and fun way to do something a little different 🙂

I wish I had a baby girl so I can do all the girlie stuff with. I did pin it to a board I share with my sister for her baby girl. So cute- and great pictures!

What a great idea! I have one little princess and she would LOVE this! I think it’s important that we do these little 15 min things because we get SO caught up that everything needs to be some big affair. I’m certain my daughter would love to have a tea party in the time between lunch and when we have to pick up the boys from school and there’s just not THAT much time!

So pretty! I have pinned it for future reference, however, having all boys I think I’ll have to throw a party for myself to use it 🙂

Such a cute cute tea time. We have floor snacks where we lay out a blanket and snack on the floor while reading or playing. It’s the only time C gets to eat somewhere other than the dining room table. I wonder if my little boy would like a tea party? Maybe we will give it a go.
