Table of Contents

If you’re a true bookworm then you know the feeling all too well–that bittersweet feeling when you’ve finished a book that you loved so much but you’re heartbroken now that it’s over. We rush, rush, rush to finish a book that’s so good we literally can’t put it down, until we realize that there’s only one chapter left and all of a sudden we need to drag it out as much as possible! That’s when a good book series comes to our rescue. We don’t have to be afraid to finish the book because there will be another one. Links contain affiliates, all opinions are always my own!

Chronicles of Narnia

By C.S. Lewis

YA Fiction, Fantasy, Christian Fiction

By far my favorite out of all of the series I’m sharing with you today. I tried to think of other books to compare it too like I did with all the other reads on the list, but I couldn’t. It’s not just the intricate storyline that weaves in and out of different times (it should be noted that the books were neither written nor published in chronological order, which is the best way to read them, in my opinion), or the vibrant imagery that Lewis creates, but the theme of Christianity that runs throughout the novels. They’re simple enough reads and enjoyable for young children, but I hesitate to call them YA Fiction (although that is how they’re classified) because of their thoughtful and meaningful events and quotes.

I love Chronicles of Narnia. I finished the entire series back to back because I was so hooked. It’s definitely a classic and lifetime favorite in my book.

    • Justine @ Little Dove May 5, 2017 at 8:43 am #

Yes, it’s so good! I read it straight through as well when I first read it. Which book is your favorite in the series?

  9. Ashley Griffith May 4, 2017 at 3:48 am #

I’ve read a ton of these and love them! I’ll have to check out the rest of them for sure.

Some of these are my ALL TIME FAVORITES. HP forever and always. When I was in highschool I read a series called Uglies (followed by Pretties and Specials) that was SO good.

Harry Potter is definitely my favorite. I’m reading it to the kids now – we’re on book 5!

    • Justine @ Little Dove May 5, 2017 at 8:42 am #

I think we’re going to read those books together once they’re done working through How To Train Your Dragon, I can’t wait! They’ve seen most of the movies and they like them.

Oh, my yes. Anne of Green Gables & Narnia… I haven’t read the final book in either series because I don’t want them to end that much.

I read Love Comes Softly as a teen and loved it.

Found you on the WWRW linkup 🙂

  14. Patricia May 4, 2017 at 12:22 pm #

Oh this is a great list! Although I have to admit that I have never been interested in Harry Potter. 😱

    • Justine @ Little Dove May 5, 2017 at 8:39 am #

Oh no, you are missing out! Just kidding, well I mean, I really feel that way ( 😉 ) but I also recognize that not everyone has the same taste in books! What’s your favorite series?

  15. hanna May 4, 2017 at 3:15 pm #

  16. Shani | Sunshine & Munchkins May 4, 2017 at 6:12 pm #

I’ve read about half of these, but need to check out the others! I enjoy series, but sometimes I purposely look for books that are stand alone titles because I don’t have the time to get into a series, haha. One of my favorite series is by Patricia Wrede. The first book is called Dealing with Dragons and they are too cute.

  17. Sara M. May 5, 2017 at 6:52 pm #

My favorite adult series is the Chronicles of Amber – magic and kingdoms and power and love…

  18. Nichole May 6, 2017 at 6:54 am #

Yay! there were a few I haven’t read so I love hearing about new books to read. I just finished the Red Rising trilogy and loved it.

    Thanks for the new recommendations!

    • Justine @ Little Dove May 6, 2017 at 12:36 pm #

Ohhh… I haven’t heard of that one yet! I’ll have to check it out, thanks!

  20. Rachel May 7, 2017 at 6:15 pm #

Ya know, I haven’t read some of these! (For shame, I know!) but the Hunger Games was absolute FAVORITE!

  21. Meg May 8, 2017 at 12:40 pm #

I’ve read several of these books, but not all. I’m always in the market for a good book, though. And P.S. – I totally want that tote bag! Where is it from?
