It’s time for another Year of Color post and when I realized it would be coinciding with my Revive Date Night series I wondered what I should write about. Then the idea came to me to plan a color-themed date night, which seemed so fun to me! Keep reading for my ideas for planning a color-themed date night.
planning a color-themed date night
Then I remembered the color for this month was purple. PURPLE.
Who plans these things??! Oh wait, that’s right, I do.
I knew I had a couple of purple pieces of clothing, but I was at a loss as to what to plan for our color-themed date night. Finally, the morning of our date I started Googling “purple” and “purple places near me” hoping I would find something that would work. Anything that would work. So you can imagine my excitement when I discovered a grill and bar located less than an hour from us that was called The Purple Place Bar and Grill.

a purple dinner and dessert
On the way back from dinner I figured we needed something else to make our date more purple-y so I quickly Googled “ice cream near me.” A place called The Niche Ice Cream popped up right on our way home only about 5 minutes away (update–it has since closed). We stopped by hoping they would have some type of purple ice cream. Well, The Niche did not disappoint! We soon left with two warm doughnuts stuffed with ice cream and filling–huckleberry for me (yay for purple!) and cookies and cream for Mike.

final thoughts on a color-themed date night
All in all it was a fun evening! We discovered a couple of new places that we probably wouldn’t have if we hadn’t stepped out of our date night rut and done something different. I started thinking about how much fun it would be to plan a color-themed date night once a month. If you’d like to, here are some different ideas for what you could do:
- Wear clothing in that color
- Eat at a restaurant with a color in the name
- Watch or attend a sports game where the team is your color
- Paint pottery or art using your color
- Drink some smoothies that are your color
- Watch a movie with the color in the name
- Go paintballing and use your color for the paintballs
- Have a color scavenger hunt
- Go to the dollar store and buy each other a present in that color
Would you plan a color-themed date night?

haha, how fun! I saw this prompt too late in the week and couldn’t figure out what to do for purple! Darn, next month! I love that you found a restaurant with the word purple in it. Love it!
Um, I LOVE this idea!!! I think your purple prompt wins this month!
I love this idea! I also looked up the restaurant, even though I don’t live in CA and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had treats for dogs too! I think that was so cool!
