I picked metallics for December partially because we’d already done red and green. However, it was also because I love all things shiny and sparkly this time of year. I can’t believe we’ve arrived at the final Year of Color post, I’ve so loved seeing everyone’s color-themed posts. This DIY jewelry holder frame is a project that I’ve been inspired to do for awhile now. Much like my October Year of Color post, it isn’t really specific to the season. I hope you enjoy and pin for later! Some links do contain affiliates, as always all opinions are my own.
DIY jewelry holder
This jewelry holder is the perfect junction of form and function. I love that you can use it for earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. I try to be intentional with the items we have in our house. So this lets my jewelry pieces be right where I can easily access them so I wear them more!
materials needed:
- 1 x 2″ wood strips, cut to length
- 12 x 24″ decorative aluminum sheet
- stain or paint of choice
- finishing nails and wood glue
- small S-hooks
Cut the four frame pieces to the desired length for your frame. Then you need to cut a groove into the sides that your metal sheeting can slide into. Stain or paint the frame as desired before you assemble it, since it will be encasing the metal on all sides. The benefit to constructing the frame this way is that the frame looks the same from the front or back. Once your frame is complete you can use the S-hooks to hang your jewelry from. Or you can hang your bigger earrings right on the metal backing!

This is so clever! You’re so crafty. I love how this allows you to see all your jewelry in one place.
I love how this turned out! The decorative metal sheet is perfect for this kind of project.
This looks fantastic! I always want to do projects like this, but then feel like I could never pull it off! 🙂
What a beautiful piece to hang your jewelry on. I love the combination of the metal and the wood.
