Thursday is Valentine’s Day and I don’t mean to brag, but I’ve got my gifts covered. Usually we get each of the kids a book and some candy. However, this year we’re surprising them with tickets to Disney on Ice for a fun family date! I feel like a lot of people I talk to these days don’t even celebrate Valentine’s Day. However, I love it; I think that any day or occasion that helps us remember to show love and appreciation is a good thing! If you’re in the need of some last minute gifts for Valentine’s Day this post is for you! These gifts won’t break the bank or your relationship. Disclaimer: I realize that objects should not define a relationship. This post is meant to help those who just love any reason to give gifts or who have a loved one who has a love language that is gift giving.
last minute Valentine’s Day gifts
give the gift of date night
I know, you’re probably thinking–“how is a date night any different than what everyone will be doing for Valentine’s Day?” It’s different because I’m talking about a whole year of date nights! There are several subscription boxes out there that offer monthly themed date nights sent right to your door. These ideas really do make the perfect last minute Valentine’s Day gift! They’re especially great if you’re like us and have a lot of little ones at home which makes it hard to have a date night out of the house.
Another fun twist on traditional date night is to make your sweetheart a “year of dates” gift. Simply place the date ideas for each month in 12 different envelopes that are labeled. For example, one month might be a favorite restaurant with a gift card, another month might be a hike with a map. When I made one for my husband I was able to plan and budget out for a few months ahead of time. This helped it not to be a big expense all at once. However, a year of dates doesn’t have to be expensive. Check out my budget-friendly date night post for more ideas!

give the gift of time
What do I mean by the gift of time? Aren’t you spending time with your sweetheart when you’re on a date? But I’ve really been thinking lately about the quality of our time. Sure, we might be sitting across the table from each other, but are we both on our phones? Are we focused on each other and listening to what the other person has to say? This isn’t necessarily a gift that you can wrap, but it is a goal you can set for yourself. After all, no one said goals are only for January 1st! Trust me, if it’s become such a problem in your relationship that you’re trying to fix it, your sweetheart will probably recognize when you make an effort.
give the gift of thoughtfulness
There are so many companies out there that are making beautiful, customized pieces. Shops have realized that we want meaningful presents to give to our significant others! Of course, by now it’s too late to order anything and have it ready and shipped in time for Valentine’s Day. Have no fear, because many of my favorite jewelry companies offer gift cards! It’s almost like the gift that keeps on giving because they’ll get to open up the gift card, then open their piece when it arrives!

These are great ideas! I’m trying to be better about not being on my phone when it’s just my husband and I after the kids go to bed. I’ve noticed that when I do, I feel so much better.
Love these gift ideas. We have really enjoyed the Date Night in Boxes. They really help us make time for a date night.
These area all such great ideas! We love our Night in Boxes, too! And I love how you mentioned the “gift of time”! This one is so important!
