Can you believe that Summer is almost over and school is about to start?! It seems like the older my kids get the faster Summer goes. We filled our Summer with so many amazing activities I still can’t believe we fit it all in! If you’ve been a reader for awhile you know I love to make and share printables with you. I especially like to share printables you can use for fun learning at home (whether you homeschool or not). Today I’m sharing this free printable for a DIY Summer memory book. They’re a perfect way to recap your Summer and have your little one get back to learning without realizing it!
preparing our homeschool space with HP
As I prepared my kids to go back to school I also prepared our new homeschool space for another school year. Another trip to Walmart was necessary for some school shopping. We’re still in the process of organizing everything from the move. However, one thing that is ready to go is our HP DeskJet 2636 All-in-One Printer. It’s a NEW Limited Edition Walmart Exclusive printer and it’s perfect for our homeschool needs!
I found it at my local Walmart where there were three colors to choose from: Atlantic Blue, Gelato, and Dark Sienna. One of the things that I love about this printer is that I can easily print from my smartphone and take care of everything I need to with the HP Smart App.
The new HP DeskJet 2636 All-in-One Printer from Walmart has a minimal footprint but can still copy, print, and scan wirelessly. Its small size makes it perfect for our homeschool room. All my little learners take up enough space in our homeschool room–I can’t have bulky electronics taking up all our table space!
diy summer memory book
This little Summer memory book is really simple to make and is the perfect way to recall all those fabulous Summer activities. Using the HP Original Ink Combo Pack that you can pick up at Walmart will help the blue color I used in the printable to be as vibrant as possible. It saves me time and makes my homeschool mom life even easier when I just grab an extra
HP Original Ink Combo Pack rather than worrying about individual cartridges. And because I can print up to twice as many pages with high-yield cartridges I can spend more time teaching and less time in the check out line.
Assembling and then filling out these books is a great back to school assignment. These DIY summer memory books have a few different writing prompts to get their brains moving. There are also a couple of spots for your kids to draw pictures if they want to. I kept the design simple and they print up in a snap on the new HP DeskJet 2636 All-in-One Printer from Walmart. I also love that I can easily access documents from my smartphone to print up while I’m lesson planning!

Instructions for assembling your DIY Summer memory book:
Keep in mind that these are a little confusing when reading them, but once you do it once or twice you’ll never forget how! You can find some step-by-step photo instructions in this post.
- Fold your paper in half lengthwise first. Then unfold so your paper is flat again.
- Next, fold your paper in half to bring short ends together. Then fold in that same direction again.
- Unfold one of those folds and then cut along the middle (lengthwise) crease until the second set of folds.
- Now you are ready to fold your memory book!
