Today is the big day that I’m finally revealing my office makeover. I’ve literally been waiting months to share this with you and I think when you see what a huge difference we made to approximately 70 square feet of space in this office remodel you’ll see why.

Right away I knew I wanted a bright space. I didn’t want to feel like I was being banished to the dungeon every time I walked in there. It’s a small room (about 7’×9′) with two small windows. The recessed lights had dim, yellow lightbulbs in them. To help solve this problem I had two priorities—fresh paint and new lighting.

I was leaning towards giving the small space a simple color scheme when I found the ceiling fan of my dreams and it sealed the deal. White walls and a white ceiling (Ultra Pure White by Behr) were the perfect backdrop for the Padgette 36 in. LED Blue Ceiling Fan I found from Home Depot. The ceiling fan was the only major expense in the room. The only other purchase I made was paint since I used furniture and decor items I already owned. And I solved the issue of not having a door to the room easily and inexpensively by hanging a curtain rod and some curtains. It’s pretty amazing to see what a difference I could make for less than $200…

That’s right folks, the secret is out! I gave my office this makeover to remodel it into a nursery for baby #6! We are so excited to share this news with you and even more excited for our family to be complete in April 2020.

I love this little room so much now, every time I walk in I immediately smile. The fresh paint and new ceiling fan (we took out the recessed lights and installed the ceiling fan) make the room so bright and enjoyable to be in. The white bookshelf and nightstand were items we already owned. And I finally did a project I’ve been wanting to do for years—I repainted our old crib.

The navy spray paint (Midnight Blue by Rustoleum) is such a fun pop in the white room but also acts as a neutral. Once we find out the gender (next week!) we can decide what other accent color we want to bring in. Do you think we’re having a boy or a girl??

I love the new office turned nursery, the bright white paint makes the are look so much bigger. Also, that pop of color in the ceiling fan is awesome. Can’t wait to see what you do with the space now that you know what gender you’re having.
