I love how everything is more magical at Christmastime. The sparkling lights, the yummy treats, and festive songs all come together to make everything more memorable. One of my favorite places to go during the holidays (other than in front of my fireplace with hot cocoa and a Christmas movie) is a theme park. I love how they always go all out with the Christmas decor and activities that only happen once a year! Last year we celebrated the holidays at the LEGOLAND California Resort and it was wonderful! holidays at LEGOLAND
dress appropriately
It’s Southern California. But it’s December. But it’s Southern California. Buuuttttt… it’s December. How to pack?! I feel like locals (which I have a right to claim seeing as how I lived in Southern California for over 20 years) can always tell who the tourists are because they’re never dressed appropriately! It can be tricky and my number one piece of advice is to dress in layers. You’ll probably be fine with just a sweatshirt that you can put on at night as temperatures drop. Be sure to check the weather right up until that morning because it can change quickly along the coast. For some special “snow” flurries be sure to check out Fun Town during select times for a special holidays at LEGOLAND experience.
enjoy festive treats
There are always certain treats that are synonymous with theme parks, right? I mean, mention Dole Whip and what do you think of? Well, LEGOLAND might be known for their apple fries all year long, but be sure and check out their seasonal goodies as well! We always love stopping by Castle Hill to see what kind of monster shakes they’re offering. Various eateries will have special, seasonal treats so try a few of them while you can!
Never been to LEGOLAND before? Be sure to read up on my tips you need to know before you go!
fun town photo ops
It’s true–LEGOLAND has cute photo ops everywhere you turn but some of my favorite are definitely in Fun Town. Not only do they decorate their storefronts with garlands and lights, but some of the best models are located in this section. Fun Town is where you’ll find the life-sized LEGO Santa in his sleigh as well as the famous 30-foot Christmas tree decorated with over 400 LEGO ornaments.
holiday lights and shows
Don’t be in a hurry once the sun sets because then you’d really miss out. The twinkling Christmas lights all over the park are so magical to see! Sometimes we get the most out of our passes by being first in the park, taking a break mid-afternoon, and then going back in the evening. There are also a lot of fun shows and musical performances that are unique to the holidays so be sure and check those out! This year there’s even a new LEGO gingerbread friend to find!
One Response to celebrate the holidays at LEGOLAND california
Legoland California looks like so much fun during the holidays. It’s so fun to see the differences between the California park and the Florida one.
