As Halloween creeps closer and closer (see what I did there?!) I know several of you still don’t know what to do. I’ve heard several parents say they want to make the day fun and special. Even more so with everything our kids have put up with this year. Today I put together some Halloween fun in California that you can find to make some great family memories! This blog post mentions some entities that I have had partnerships with in the past. However, this post is not sponsored and all opinions are my own.

Where to go for Halloween in 2020.

Halloween fun in California

Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge will be opening their second location in California soon. Until then you can still enjoy the spooky fun at the Anaheim location! Actually, all 19 locations in the United States and Canada will be celebrating Howl-O-Ween all month long. There will be nightly costume parades, Monster Bash Dance Parties, UnBOOlievable Story Time, and various other Halloween-themed crafts and activities. All events will require advanced reservations to attend. Thanks to Great Wolf Lodge’s Paw Pledge Program you know that your health and safety is their number one priority.

Quarry Park Adventures

Quarry Park Adventures is hosting their Harvest Weekend during the day and showing fun Halloween movies at the drive-in all Halloween weekend. For a $15 ticket per child (adults are free) you can gain access to kids games and activities, a jack-o-lantern display, and a pumpkin drop from their drop zone (pumpkin drop requires an additional ticket and includes a ride on the zip line). Stick around Friday and Saturday evenings for specials showings of The Nightmare Before Christmas or Hocus Pocus.

Tower Park Resort

Two years ago our family spent a silly and spooky Halloween weekend at Tower Park Resort in Lodi, California. One of 75 Jellystone Park locations in the United States and Canada it was the perfect fall getaway! Not only can you camp or glamp in the great outdoors but they also have lots of fun activities planned. Every weekend through November 8th registered guests can decorate campsites, do creepy crafts, walk a haunted trail, and more! And most of their activities are open (laser tag or mini golf anyone?) with new guidelines in place.

Camping in Fall?? Absolutely! Have a fun time this Halloween season at Jellystone Tower Park Resort in Lodi, CA.
El Panteon/Dia de los Muertos Drive-Thru

For my readers in the Sacramento area that love Disney/Pixar’s Coco you’ll want to be sure to check this out. Thursday through Sunday evenings Halloween weekend the 11th Annual Panteón de Sacramento will be transforming into a special drive-through event. Reservations are required but tickets are free! It is being hosted at the The Latino Center of Art & Culture, check out their website for more details.

theme park Halloween experiences

Theme parks in California might still be closed but several have found ways to share some Halloween fun with you! Knott’s Berry Farm is hosting their first Taste of Fall-O-Ween event. With their hotel open again it makes for a fun overnight getaway. SeaWorld Spooktacular is also happening down south through November 2. Space is limited and reservations are required so there’s plenty of space for everyone to have fun. Also in San Diego area, little Lego-lovers can enjoy Halloween in Miniland. Your family can enjoy outdoor retail and dining experience every weekend through Halloween. Up north, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is extending their Marine World Experience with a few spooky twists for Boo 2020!
