all the sugar cookies

Of course, what would Christmas baking be without the classic sugar cookie? Personally, my favorite sugar cookie recipe can be found in this old blog post of mine. I think the trick for a delicious sugar cookie is to roll the dough out thick and then bake until they’re just barely done. Then you get a soft, chewy, delicious cookie. It’s always nice to switch up your favorite sugar cookie recipe with a different flavoring other than vanilla. How about adding in a hint of orange or sprinkling with some cinnamon sugar?

cookies for chocolate lovers

I just can’t say no to chocolate and one of my favorite combos is definitely peppermint and chocolate, especially during the holidays. Of course, you can’t go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter either. Or chocolate and caramel. Or chocolate and anything really. Make a tray of these assorted chocolate cookies and drop them off at your neighbor’s houses to say Merry Christmas… if you can bear to part with them.

holiday favorites

There are some cookies that just scream “Christmas” to me. Well, scream probably isn’t the right word. Carol “Christmas”? Anyway, making a few of these classic staples is a must during the holidays. What type of cookie means Christmas to you? When I was growing up spritz cookies were some of my favorite to watch my mom make. Of course, they were also some of my favorite to eat. So soft and buttery, they melted in my mouth and it just tasted like Christmas.

gluten free and keto options

Let me be really honest–no one in our house is gluten free. And although we often eat lower carb, we’re definitely not Keto. In truth, we love us some gluten and carbs. That’s why I’m so thankful for friends that share tasty recipes like these! Everyone should get to enjoy their favorite cookies during the holidays. And every child should get to make a mess decorating a gingerbread house that they can then eat while watching A Charlie Brown Christmas, right?

other sweet treats

Christmas isn’t just for cookies, although they’re definitely the star of the show. Or rather, the star of the Christmas pageant. For example, I love to make fudge and I try to create a new recipe every year. My grasshopper fudge is one of my favorites, but the hot chocolate fudge is probably the prettiest of the bunch.

Which Christmas cookie is your absolute favorite? Do you have any other sweet treats that you have to make each holiday season?
