You know what kind of projects I love? Projects that are simple–bonus points if I can get them done during naptime with time to spare. I also love it if I can use materials I have on hand or spend very little money. And of course by the end of the project I want it to look like I spent oodles of time or money on said project. This book page wreath from dollar store finds is both super quick and super inexpensive! Since I already had the book leftover from a previous project and I already own a glue gun (because doesn’t everyone??) this project literally cost me $1! Keep reading for all the details on the book page wreath project! I even have a video for you at the end so you can see the process.
book page wreath
It all started because I found these adorable heart-shaped wreath forms at the dollar store. Like, WHAT?! Okay dollar store, stepping up your crafting game, I see you. I knew I wanted to do something with it, but what? Faux flowers could be cute but I don’t really like the quality of the flowers at the dollar store. And I didn’t really want to use ribbon, burlap, or coffee filters. I wanted something different. And simple. When I brought the wreath form home I still wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted to do with it.
By the way–I typically try NOT to purchase crafts with no clear vision in mind. I just got rid of a huge box of stuff that had sat untouched for years before baby girl was born. But I don’t have any Valentine’s Day decor for the front of the house and I knew I wanted to something with the metal heart wreath.
where to find books for diy projects
I know, I know, you might see this book page wreath and shudder at the thought of tearing up a book for a DIY project. I am a book lover and totally get it! That’s why I buy books from the dollar store. That’s right, the dollar store sells hardcover books for–you guessed it, a dollar! They are perfect for craft projects and I don’t feel badly about tearing up a book.

materials needed:
- book
- metal wreath form
- hot glue gun
Score the pages where they’re attached to the binding with scissors so you can easily tear them from the book. Then rip each individual page the size you want for your wreath. You’ll see in the video below that I tore each sheet into three pieces.
Then, lightly folding your page pieces in a ruffle or accordion style (you should NOT crease the pages down stiff!) attach the pieces around the wreath form with the hot glue gun. Once you are completed go in and fill in more ruffled pages depending on how full you want your wreath to look. There is no right or wrong, it just depends on how you want it to look!
