breakfast in bed
When I found out I was pregnant with my son I was such a messy mixture of nervous and excitement. Anyone who has experienced pregnancy after loss can probably attest that you’re just a bundle of nerves the whole time. Thankfully, I made it through my pregnancy just fine and Mother’s Day 2010 was my last Mother’s Day without a baby in my arms–my son was born less than a week later. I remember that Mike made that day so special. He surprised me with breakfast in bed even though our baby wasn’t born yet. Breakfast in bed is a tradition that I continue to be spoiled with most years. Even though some years I have some little breakfast companions join me.
brunch charcuterie board for one
This charcuterie board was so fun to put together because it was just for me. A small, individual sized brunch board to enjoy all to myself. And it’s super easy for your husband or kiddos to put together for you in no time at all. Just a few items are needed that you can pickup on your next Walmart run or order for pickup!
I started with some Thomas’ bagels in plain and cinnamon raisin flavor. That way you can choose between the savory or sweet for breakfast. Did you know that the Thomas’ brand has been around for over 100 years?! Whether you’re enjoying the original “Nooks & Crannies®” English muffins or their wholesome and delicious bagels, Thomas’ is the perfect way to “wake up to what’s possible”! I also love that Thomas’ sells their bagels pre-sliced making them perfect for kiddos to prepare by themselves without having to use sharp knives!
Welch’s Natural Strawberry Spread is the perfect topping for your Thomas’ bagels. It also comes in grape but I personally prefer strawberry. With no preservatives, no artificial flavors, and no high fructose corn syrup it’s a sweet way to start your day! And did you know that 100% of the profits go to American family farmers? Now, there’s breakfast you can really feel good about.
Other toppings for bagels and some fresh fruit round off this simple charcuterie brunch board for one. Here’s a tip–If you want to cut out cream cheese like I did place the block in the freezer for a few minutes, then use a cookie cutter! If your family is super ambitious they could add some eggs or bacon. however, I like that this breakfast is simple to put together.
Welch’s Sparkling Juice is the perfect beverage to enjoy with your Mother’s Day brunch and it comes in a variety of flavors! The refreshing fruit flavors come from high quality family farmer-grown grapes. In fact, the white grape flavor is my favorite! Of course, I like that Welch’s Sparkling Juice comes in fancy and festive glass bottles that make my simple breakfast in bed feel like I’m at a five star resort.
