It’s Teacher Appreciation week! I think we can all agree it’s been a weird school year (and a half), right? And if I’m being totally honest, it hasn’t been my favorite. Some of you might be aware that this is our first year not homeschooling. Although my kids have loved being around friends more now that they’re on campus full time, the transition has been hard for me. Having been my children’s teacher for all these years I know how hard teachers work and I appreciate the good ones so much… and that’s all I’ll say on the subject. Anyway, I digress. Today’s post is all about teacher appreciation ideas and I’ve got some free printables for you, so let’s get to it!
teacher appreciation ideas
I actually went to school for elementary education and had all the required courses to become a teacher in the state of California. I had even taken and aced the CBEST and was getting ready to take the CSET when Mike accepted a job in Texas. We moved out of state, started having babies, and the rest is history. Someday I’ll probably teach when my kids are a little older. In the meantime, that degree and background has really come in handy teaching my own children!

I don’t think acknowledgement for Teacher Appreciation Week has to be hard or expensive. Little efforts go a long way in showing gratitude. Today I have three different printables for you. Simply print out the one (or ones) that you prefer, have your child color them in, attach a gift card or treat, and that’s it!

thanks for keeping us on target
This free card printable is perfect to attach a Target gift card to. After all, who doesn’t love Target?! You can even purchase the multipacks of gift cards, or have your little one pick out whatever design they think their teacher will like best. I’ve done this before and it’s so cute to see what they pick!

sip sip hooray!
Know a teacher who loves her morning coffee or after-school soda? This printable is perfect to attach any type of drink gift card to. Whether they love Starbucks or Sonic just have your child color it in and then tape on the gift card. You could also partner this card with a tumbler or box of tea–whatever kind of drink your child’s teacher loves! Not sure what they prefer? Ask your kiddo, they probably have a pretty good idea!
so sweet to have a teacher like you
This card is the perfect companion to anything sweet. You could pick out a candy bar, a gourmet cookie from a local small shop, or even attach a See’s gift card. Be sure that when you’re choosing your item though that you’re keeping in mind possible allergies. For example, it’s best to stay away from ingredients like nuts.
