Summer is officially here and the grilling season is well under way. If your family is anything like mine then summertime grilling and s’mores by a campfire go hand-in-hand. Seasoned readers know how much we love s’mores and the fancier the better, right? Today I’m sharing a s’mores charcuterie board I made for last 4th of July. It would be the perfect addition to your family’s grilling menu! Plus, something that’s easy to put together?? Yes, please!
festive s’mores charcuterie board
Of course this isn’t the first time I’d put together a themed s’mores board. But something about delicious red, white, and blue goodies is especially fun to me. Last summer I was like many of you—trying to put together a fun and memorable celebration for my family since all our normal festivities were canceled. This patriotic s’mores charcuterie board? Just the trick for a perfect pre-fireworks treat.
grahams and cookies
It really isn’t hard to think of fancy-schmancy s’mores offerings. Just think of your basic ingredients for the favorite summertime treat and think of what you could substitute for that ingredient. Graham crackers are your normal “bread” of the s’mores sandwich. So why not add chocolate grahams, cookies, or even a thinly-sliced sweet bread like Brioche. Look for cookies with patriotic colors like these fun OREO creme cookies, or specialty sugar cookies.
marshmallows
No s’more would be complete without a lightly roasted and toasted (or charred and burnt if you’re like me) marshmallow. Make sure you have your standard marshmallow available but don’t stop there! Gourmet marshmallows like these from Smashmallow are a favorite of ours and come in tons of flavors. Of course, regular marshmallows come in fun flavors and shapes seasonally too so be sure to check those out.
chocolate choices
And of course, who can forget chocolate? When I saw these fun red, white, and blue bars I had to grab some. There are so many other great chocolate choices for your s’mores charcuterie board though! Some of our favorites include:
- Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars
- Hershey’s Cookies and Cream Bars
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
- Andes Mints
- Ruby chocolate

This is such a fun idea for the 4th. We got those patriotic cookies and cream bars and they are so good. I’m going to watch for them again this summer when we are at Hershey.
