This past weekend our family went and spent our Saturday afternoon at SeaQuest in Folsom. I have been wanting to take the kids since they opened and am so glad we were finally able to make it happen! We spent several hours there and my kids were asking when we could go again when we were walking back to the car! So, what can you do at SeaQuest? Keep reading to find out and see how you may be able to get a free visit! This post was in partnership with SeaQuest Folsom. All opinions are my own.
what is SeaQuest?
SeaQuest is actually in 10 different cities across the United States so check out their website for a location near you. They host all sorts of animals from both land and sea. While you’re there you’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal! Rather than stare at animals from afar, you can purchase food to feed several of the animals and purchase special animal interaction experiences.
The ultimate land and sea adventure with over 1,000 exotic animals. …you can hand-feed Flash the Sloth; feel the shell of Stormin’ Norman the giant sulcata tortoise; snorkel with stingrays and sharks; take a selfie with Marina the Mermaid; and more! Journey through the Amazon Rainforest, Caribbean, Mayan Jungle, and Pirate Island. SeaQuest creates an unforgettable experience with exciting exhibits and activities for families and children of all ages.

what can you do there?
As I mentioned, at SeaQuest you not only get to observe animals, but you get to really bond with them! You can purchase tickets which allow you inside. Once inside, you can purchase feeding tokens for many animals from iguanas to stingrays. Additionally, you can reserve animal interactions and encounters. Different locations offer different ones so today I’ll share with you what the Folsom location offers. A word of advice though–animal interactions sell out quickly and I recommend reserving in advance!

animal interactions
Snorkel with the Stingrays. This was by far my kids favorite experience! For us it was a swim with the stingrays rather than a snorkel (maybe because of COVID?) but it didn’t matter. Our animal whisperer Andrew was so knowledgeable and patient with the kids. Getting to swim and feed the stingrays and bat rays is something they’ll never forget!
Porcupine Interaction. The porcupine interaction is brand new to the Folsom location and the porcupine is still in training. We had a great time talking with our animal whisperer, Angela, and learning all about porcupines and where they rescued theirs from! We even got to feed it!
Wallaby Encounter. We visited the wallabies first and they were so cute! Angela taught us all about wallabies in the wild. We also learned that Watson and Holmes can be picky eaters just like our kids!
Sloth Interaction. This ended up being one of my favorite experiences of the day! Sam was our animal whisperer who told us all about sloths. I was surprised they’re not really as slow as they’re known for! We had a lot of fun feeding and petting the back of Sid.
Asian Otter Interaction. We weren’t able to visit with the otters on this trip but we look forward to getting up close with them next time! This encounter includes feeding them and a Q&A with an animal whisperer.
Fishy Kisses Experience. This was my most relaxing moment of the day–heck, my whole weekend! We sat on soft cushions while tiny fish “kissed” on our feet. It was really fun and I told my kids that lots of people pay big money to have this same experience at spas! Note–if you’re very ticklish this might not be the right experience for you, lol.
