Well, autumn is almost officially upon us. I know some of y’all were ready for fall to start about the time it ended last year. However, I find this time bittersweet. I do love fall but in a last-minute attempt to hang on to summer I thought I’d try a fun craft. Plus, it’s so hot here in California it’s hard to get fully into the fall mindset. These mod podge map pumpkins are a fun take on traditional fall décor.

I like that these pumpkins are a new spin on a traditional Mod Podge pumpkin. They really make you want to take a closer look! Plus, they’re a unique talking point and the perfect fall décor for travel enthusiasts!

materials:
- craft pumpkins; wood, plastic, or foam works well
- paper maps
- Mod Podge sealer + paintbrush
These map pumpkins are so easy to make and a great way to use up old maps! You can cut strips of the maps, but tearing is so much faster and I liked the messier look. This is a really relaxing naptime craft so it’s perfect if you don’t have a lot of spare time.

We had some old faux pumpkins in our fall décor bins. They were starting to peel so I figured it would be better to cover up with some fun maps. I also had some small wooden pumpkins that are the perfect size for a mantel or shelf so I did one of those too. I picked old maps that had a lot of oceans and forests. This way they had a lot of blues and greens which I love. However, if you wanted a more “traditional” pumpkin you could pick one featuring a lot of cities and deserts for yellows, whites, and browns.
