Last fall we made a quick stop on the coast after one of our Disney trips. Ventura, California is a family-friendly destination with plenty of activities to keep both kids and adults entertained. For about 24 hours we played at San Buenaventura State Beach, checked out the Channel Islands National Park visitor center, and took in the history at Mission Basilica San Buenaventura. With its coastal climate, miles of beaches, and immersive cultural attractions, Ventura is a great place to visit with your little ones! We wished we’d had more time and look forward to going back someday. In the meantime, here are some suggestions for visiting Ventura with kids.

You packed so much into a short trip! I would love to go here with my family. The Channell Islands NP looks especially interesting.
We only made it to the Visitor Center on this trip since you have to pay for a chartered boat to go to the actual Islands and it’s EXPENSIVE… I told Mike we should wait until the kids are older and they’ll appreciate it more. Haha.
