Last week during Spring Break our family got to go to one of our favorite northern California theme parks! We had the opportunity to check out the PEANUTS Celebration at California’s Great America. This event features limited edition food, activities, and décor. It was the first time being help at California’s Great America and we had a fabulous time! Keep reading for all the details and tips for attending. This post is in partnership with California’s Great America, a Cedar Fair park. All opinions are my own.
what is the Peanuts Celebration?
The PEANUTS Celebration highlights everyone’s favorite beagle and his friends! This unique theme park experience was first introduced at Knott’s Berry Farm in 2018, and now it’s at California’s Great America! If you’re a fan of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, and the whole gang you’ll love this event. There are unique food offerings, special shows, fun activities, and limited merchandise during the celebration.

ways to celebrate with your favorite Peanuts characters
specialty food
If you’re looking for something savory to eat, you’re in luck. There are several limited offerings during the PEANUTS Celebration. We loved the Juicy Lucy burger, which is a cheese-stuffed burger patty topped with onion rings. Best of all–it’s Dining Plan eligible! There are also several hot dog options and snacks, such as fried pickle chips. To wash it all down you have specialty drinks such as a Mini Blazer and Jr. Patriot.

If you’re still hungry after your entrée there are some sweet treats you can enjoy. The young and young at heart can choose between peanut butter churros, tooty fruity funnel cake, or a PB&J deep fried sandwich. Maps throughout the park and the Great America app will tell you where you can find the treat you’re looking for.
fun shows and activities
There are so many fun shows during the PEANUTS Celebration it will be hard for you to see them all! My littlest one especially loved the Music Goes ‘Round and Around show on the Planet Snoopy Stage. It’s a perfect break during the day if your feet need a rest. There are several other shows and even PEANUTS on the Go cavalcade you won’t want to miss.

There are also some fun activities that will only be around for this special event. All of my kids, from the age of 2 to 12, loved Spike’s Silent Disco. Aspiring artists will definitely want to check out the PEANUTS Sketch School at the PEANUTS Party Zone.
tips for visiting California’s Great America
We had a fantastic time on our most recent visit to California’s Great America for the PEANUTS Celebration. Here are some of the tips we recommend if you want to plan a visit:
- Get there first thing in the morning! You will be able to get on so many rides so quickly. Plus, you will get some premium parking!
- Keep in mind that some rides might not open right away with the rest of the park, especially if it’s a weekday or slower season. Have a back up plan for your day in case your desired ride is closed.
- Consider getting a season pass or dining plan. There are lots of different options available and they’re usually a great deal if you’re planning to be there a full day or multiple days.
- Purchase your tickets ahead of time and be aware of their deals and freebies. Season pass holders can purchase discounted tickets with their Bring-A-Friend tickets. Likewise, Military members can get a significant discount as well. Maybe best of all–Season pass holders can get a free Pre-K Pass for their 3-5 year old.
