Summer is almost here–can you smell it? It smells like sunscreen and chlorine to me. I’m ready for sunshine and pool days and long road trips with the family. But I’m also looking forward to lots of downtime around the house too. Time to relax and recharge after a hectic school year. Especially the infamous “Maycember”, when the schools think it’s a good idea to cram six months worth of school activities into one month. However, as much as we want to just chill, there are somedays when the kiddos like to proclaim that they’re “bored”, even though they’ve been begging to be bored for months. Go figure. Plus, I feel like summer is over SO fast–my kids have exactly two months off and that’s it! That’s where this summer bucket list printable comes in handy. It keeps us on track for the things that are most important for us, so we don’t get to the end of the summer and realize we didn’t do this or that.
are you ready for summer?
Physically, I am definitely ready for summer. Ready for our stressful school mornings to be over and ready to soak in sunshine and make lots of Vitamin D. However, mentally I’m not sure. I just can’t believe we’re already midway through May because wasn’t it just Christmastime? Each year I get older, the year just seems to fly by even faster. What are some of your favorite summertime activities? Below are some of ours!
- movies in the park
- family summer road trip
- visiting the fair
- going to a theme park or waterpark
- making homemade root beer
- participate in the summer reading program at the library
- make a new tie-dye shirt
- fireworks on the 4th of July
- barbecue outside
- make homemade ice cream

summer bucket list printable
This summer bucket list printable has some of our favorite “iconic” summer activities on it. Print it up and use it as is, or use it as inspiration for your kids to create their own! I have 16 items listed on this printable because, as I mentioned earlier, my kids have exactly eight weeks of summer vacation. That means we can stay on track with summer activities by doing two a week. This is definitely manageable with other summer activities and trips, as well as just having downtime to “be bored”!

[…] I also have a fun page where your kids can learn a little about the history of postcards and create their own. This might be my favorite worksheet in the whole bundle! I also included a crossword I created that teaches the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Finally, they can make a summer bucket list to plan our all their summer adventures. You can also find that particular printable in this summer bucket list blog post. […]
