Last week I shared all about our recent visit to Knott’s Scary Farm. We had had that trip planned for a couple of months and the first thing I did was book a room at the Knott’s Hotel. Our family first stayed at the Knott’s Hotel at the end of 2019. Since then we have continued to return time and time again. The combination of the qualities of the property and the great value makes staying at the Knott’s Hotel the perfect option for your family vacation or staycation. Today I’m sharing our Knott’s Hotel review so you can decide if it’s right for your family! Spoiler alert–it is. As a Get Away Today partner some links may contain affiliates.
staying at the Knott’s Hotel: our review
There are many reasons why our family loves staying at the Knott’s Hotel when we visit the park. In this Knott’s Hotel review I’ll be covering the location, amenities, and rooms. Keep in mind that the Knott’s Hotel also offers ballrooms and meeting spaces, this review will not be covering those spaces.
stay for the location
One of the best things about staying at the Knott’s Hotel is the convenient location. Not only is it near many other attractions like Disneyland and Orange County Beaches, but Knott’s Berry Farm is right next door! Our family loves being able to walk out the door in the morning and head right to the park. There’s no stress about trying to find parking or worrying that you forgot a sweatshirt in the room. It’s also a quick walk back if a child needs an afternoon nap.

The short walk from the hotel to the main gate takes you right down Grand Avenue, where there are plenty of food and shopping options. This has worked out well for our family when we get a sweet tooth walking back from the park at night and can stop into the Knott’s Berry Farm Bakery for a treat to share. Or, when we realize we need one more souvenir before heading home and can quickly step into Peanuts Headquarters. These shops and eateries are open late for your convenience–oftentimes past park closing.
stay for the amenities
Whether your trip is for business or a fun family adventure, you’ll find what you need. If you’re planning an event, there are more than 20,000 square feet of flex meeting spaces. These areas can be configured into grand ballrooms or small conference spaces. Meanwhile, families will love the large pool area, complete with a hot tub and splash area for even the littlest guests. It’s the perfect place to take an afternoon break before going back to close out the park. The pool area is currently undergoing improvements and may be closed during your visit. Check with the hotel for details.

On-site you will also find a small gift shop and coffee shop. There is also a full-service restaurant (30 Acres Kitchen and Bar) with delicious food options. You do not have to be a guest to dine here. However, if you are, be sure to take advantage of the room and breakfast packages available.
stay for the rooms
The guest room options at the Knott’s Hotel are perfect for families. Over the years we have stayed in their Double Queen Room, as well as their Oversized Double Queen Room, which sleep 4 and 6, respectively. All rooms come equipped with a dorm sized refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker, while the oversized room has the addition of a wet bar area. The oversized room also has a fold-out bed and is slightly larger. Both room options are great, however, especially when you consider getting connecting Double Queen Rooms. There are also King Rooms available.
All the rooms have upgraded features like a plethora of USB ports for charging devices and a touch-screen bathroom mirror. Everything in the room has been thoughtfully designed and it’s the perfect place to unwind after a busy theme park day. Delicious room service that’s available to order from your room is the icing on the cake.
why staying at the Knott’s Hotel is better than ever
Our family has stayed at the Knott’s Hotel both before renovations and once they were complete. The hotel renovations have not only impressed us, but it makes us excited for what’s still to come. All 322 guest rooms have been renovated so far to reflect the same love and ingenuity that went into California’s first theme park. Walking into the cozy, curated guest rooms feels like coming home.

The improvements don’t end at the guest rooms, however. Every area from the lobby, to the exterior have been updated and upgraded, while honoring the history of Knott’s Berry Farm. Although there is still some construction going on, every effort has been made to ensure minimum disruption to the guests. As of publication, pool area is being renovated and other plans for the hotel are in the works.
